I would have done the same with one twist. I would have told the guy that I wasn't going to rez him and so he might as well leave the group.
I see no reason for tolerating rude behavior. I often suggest to people acting rudely to leave the quest or mission and map back to town. I mean, I have done a lot of quests and missions with less than a full party due to leavers or lags, so why not do the same by asking an idiot to go?

I agree with everybody who's said the biggest jerks are the people who instantly spam you with "noob / nub / nooblet" if you don't agree with them or don't give them what they want.
It use to piss me off at first, but then I realised that these people are probably like the guy in this video, and therefore it's them who have the problem.
On our guild forum we actually have a thread similar to this called "The Amadán (Idiot) List", where people name and shame idiots they've come across. Makes for a good read, all gulid forums should have one!

Out of subject:
In Random Pugs with at least2-3 warriors I bring Dodge
For the reason you have mentioned above.
lol
I shouldn't have to bring runnings skills tocatch up to stupid warriors but either way Dodge let's me not only *get to* those aforementioned stupid warriors to heal them (thus preventing verbal whiplash)
But I can also run away to save the group with Rebirth in PvE.

In subject:
I also find that ppl who can't take friendly tips and insight are complete jerks that are *way* overly defensive and snap at anything they perceive as a threat.

I think that the parents probably took this video footage because their *son* probably has anger management issues. I don't think he'd actually tape *himself* being such a crazy a$$ fooker.
These are the crazy ppl who give Violent Video games a bad name when they are actualy like normaly.
I could have *sworn* he'd take the Tv and crash it to the ground in blind anger lol!

funny, but sad, I'd suspect theres more in this game like this guy than anyone suspects.
Also interesting to me is that hes a FPS pvp player... go figure.
And I got kicked from TGH forums for suggesting that FPS can be a little "out there" and arent looking for the same kind of game as the RPG players...
Interesting.

doing thirsty river (helpin a friend out). We've got a solid group, very capable. We get the 10% bonus and beat the first priest than one of the warriors grabs the ghost and runs to start of mission and goes afk (still talkin to him). We waited and waited, no reply and he didn't move.
Dont usually get into arguments, there's just no point. But ya this was pretty stupid of the guy.

I myself have had a few jerk experiences.
1.) Ok im doing elone reach in a PUG with my mo/ele. Now im not the greatest monk ever but im decent. I use a +12 energy focus and i had a nice sword that i was using at the time because i could not find any decently pricerd wands. One guy in my party aggros everything and when i dont have the power to heal 7 other people at the same time he dies. he freaks out because i use a sword. I explaine to him i only use it for the upgrades and i dont attack with it. Well he quits and thats that.
2.) Not really a single jerk story but an attitude people have. If your level 16 and you want to pvp where do you go? Why lions arch of course. But people have a fit if you're not level 20. I can understand that you might be a disadvantage but come on its not like were doing the HoH. If we lose so what? People freak out and tell me to make a PvP character. Well i dont want to. PvE and PvP are mixed for a reason people. If Anet wanted them to be seperate they would have made it that way.

If you're going into the arenas as a level 16, you better expect to have a big-arsed bullseye on your forehead. I for one target tend to any lower levels I see first for the quick kills. With the lower health than level 20's, you'll either die quick or suck out your monks resources for the other team.
Either way, you hurt your team just by being there.

ooh, another jerk story. i was getting a run to thirsty river, and we decided to follow the runner (we were pretty far away). the one ranger, who was lvl 7, seemed decent enough at the beginning of the run....but he tried to charm a dune lizard. charm animal takes 7 seconds....and he got caught in the wake of all the attracted mobs. i was near in front of him (maybe about 100-200 ft ingame) after i died. he decides to blame the fact that he died before he could get charm animal off on me.
jerk: WTF stupid *my PC's name here* you ugly
me: huh?
jerk: stfu you dumbass i bet you ugly in real life
me: you're complaining about something that's not my fault...who's the stupid one?
jerk: stfu ugly dumbass
me: complaining about a dune lizard....(sigh to myself)
another player who was in our party helped me out and bashed the moron pretty good. he shut up fast enough.
why must this game be populated with morons?! (rhetoric)

Well, unfortunately, the jerks outnumber the the nice people, and here is what I base this on:
Somehow, it is a bad thing to be a new player in this game; hence the derogatory n00b, and all of its derivatives. In games such as GW, the lifeblood of keeping the whole thing viable is a steady influx of new players. When this game ceases to be profitable for AN, you can bet that support for it will dry up as well, and eventually they will just shut it down.
While AN made a valiant effort to prevent griefers, mankind just seems to invent worse griefers.
To be fair, this is one of the most enjoyable threads I have ever read on any board. I have had some really good laughs. But the culture that is developing in this game is certain to doom it.
You guys are shooting yourselves in the foot, imo.

Going back a moment to the beggar issue.
I had a fun solution to that in EQ.
I had a 58th lvl monk when the cap was 60, he was a melee god. I'd see the beggar saying things like "does anyone have anything they can give me?"
Now, that is the height of lazy begging, couldn't even do the homework to decide what to beg for.
Usually I'd tell said noob beggar that he could see a list of the things I had to give away by targeting me and typing /d for "details".
Of course, former eq addicts like myself know that /d really means "challenge to duel to the death." Most of the time I just let them run screaming but if they were particularly offensive I'd splatter them with a single punch.
Jerk move I know, but I cant stand beggars. In my own defense I was a total champion of the hardworking noob and quite often used my extraordinary abilities to resolve issues of real noobs getting pushed around by real jerks. One of my favorite moments like that was when My GF (a 58 druid) and I were chillin in town and we heard a ruckus of some arseholes about our lvl beating up on noobs pointlessly in a pvp arena nearby and not allowing them to get thier stuff back. She laid all kinda big fat buffs on me and with my magic resistance set of jewelry on and a couple of spare "no sticks" in my inventory those sorry saps (2 wizards and a Paladin) never knew what hit them Well, they did, 'cause I told them, but long story short the noobs were able to go back to enjoying beatin on each other without interference again.
